Working with Craquelé powder
Craquelé powder allows you to create a beautiful cracked effect on your artwork.
Usage
Mix one part Paverpol with one part water and two parts Craquelé powder to form a liquid paste. First, apply a layer of dark-coloured Paverpol to the surface of your project. This colour will remain visible through the cracks later on. Allow this layer to dry.
Next, apply the Craquelé paste using a spatula. By subtly creating a textured effect in the paste with the spatula, you bring the layer to life: the thicker the application, the larger the cracks will be. Once the paste has been applied to the desired thickness, allow it to air-dry. This may take several hours, depending on the thickness of the layer. You can also speed up the process by using a hairdryer on a cool setting (for at least 20 minutes) until the cracks start to appear.
Available sizes
Craquelé powder is available in 150 gram and 600 gram containers.
Combining
Craquelé powder mixed with Paverpol, can be coloured using Pavercolor. Once the project has dried, you can also paint it using Paverpaint.
Storage
Craquelé paste is air-drying. Store the paste in an airtight, sealable container. If the Craquelé paste begins to get too stiff, add a small amount of Paverpol. Do not use water to thin it.
