Last April Jan and I were invited by our importer to come to New York to give a master class workshop to educated C.P.I.'s (Certified Paverpol Instructors). Among these C.P.I.'s were a couple of well known artist who also made some art pieces which were up for showing in the Pen & Brush Gallery, New York. Jan and I were invited to visit this gallery. I had the honor to hand out the award, made by myself, to the artist who made the most beautiful piece of art.
It wasn't easy, I can tell you that. Our jaws dropped literally when we looked at all these amazing art pieces. Piece by piece they were just beautiful.
But we had to make a choice and eventually I chose a wall panel made by an artist named Morgan Elser from Delavan - Illinois.
The exposition was a great success since quite some art pieces were sold as well that evening.
The idea for a Paverpol Award came from our American importer. Thanks Christa! Because it was such a huge success we are planning to do this every year from now on. At the same time we had the idea to award a Paverpol Award to the artist who made the most beautiful, original or most meaningful Paverpol Art Piece for our internet-gallery.
We do receive so many beautiful photos and we decided to do something with that. Everyone can join even with more then one art piece/photo. In the Paverpress of January 1, 2009 we will let you know who will get the Paverpol Award. It's an exclusive statue made by Jossy de Roode.
